THE WALK TO THE BEACH?

Out the front door and 100 metres down the path and steps to the beach below.


Where Is It?

Situated between Newquay and Watergate Bay on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Porth is a large, west-facing sandy beach, sheltered by rocky headlands on either side and with a cafe, restaurant and pub right next to the beach.

Porth is the kind of beach that kids dream of with sheltered soft sand and rock pools galore, a stream flowing down to the shoreline and even an island with a wooden bridge across to it.

Lifeguards patrol the beach from May to September, making it safe for swimming and bodyboarding. Even during the height of summer, Porth provides a sense of peace.

  • En-suite bathroom with bath, large shower enclosure, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
  • Small first floor twin children's bedroom with bunk beds.
  • First floor shower room with large shower enclosure with rainfall shower head plus hand-held shower attachment, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
  • Ground floor double bedroom with king size bed.
  • En-suite shower room with large shower enclosure with rainfall shower head plus hand-held shower attachment, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
  • Further large ground floor bedroom with garden views, zip-and-link bed which can be used as a king size double or two full size singles, additional single sofabed and widescreen 3D television.
  • Ground floor twin children's bedroom with a bunk bed.
  • Double sofa bed in the games room in the garden with WC and shower room.
  • Family bathroom with bath, large shower enclosure, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

Outside:

  • Very private and sheltered, south-facing lawned rear garden, terraced with upper and lower patio areas, table and 10 chairs and large gas BBQ.
  • Well-equipped games room / cinema room, featuring pool table and 50" smart TV with sound bar and XBox 360. WC and shower room.
  • Hot tub - perfect for unwinding after a day's surfing, or enjoying a sundowner looking over the house to the sea.
  • 2 beginner surfboards, and a selection of bodyboards.
  • Lawned area to the front of the property with sea views.
  • Large sea view balcony accessed from master bedroom.
  • Private drive at the front of the property with parking for two cars.
  • Private driveway at the rear of the property with parking for several cars.

  • Sorry, no smoking within the property or anywhere on the premises.
  • Two well behaved pets allowed, please contact us if you would like to bring further pets.
  • Cautionary deposit of £500 required when booking.
  • Short breaks available outside of school holidays.
  • Book a 3 or 5 night break and get an extra 2 nights free. This offer is only available after October half-term and before Easter, excluding school holidays. Only available to book by telephone on 01637 861005.
  • Minimum one weeks notice required for bookings.

What Can I Walk To?

  • Porth beach on the doorstep.
  • Lusty Glaze beach, 5 minutes walk along the coast path.
  • Cafe Coast Porth, The Mermaid pub, Roo's Beach Shop and Estrella Morada Tapas Bar - all within 5 minutes walk.
  • Watergate Bay is about 25 minutes walk along the coast path, a great destination for a cream tea at the Watergate Bay Hotel, or a meal at The Beach Hut or the Jamie Oliver inspired restaurant Fifteen Cornwall, which all overlook the sand. At low tide (though this has to be carefully timed) you can also walk to Watergate Bay all the way along Whipsiderry and Watergate beaches, which is a fantastic walk.
  • For further facilities, it is also possible to walk into Newquay - about 20 minutes, mostly along the cliffs above Lusty Glaze, Tolcarne and Great Western beaches.
