Experience Cornwall’s most westerly point

You’ll spot the huge blue rollers of the Atlantic well before you reach Sennen, one of the last villages before Land’s End. This may be near the end of the earth, but Sennen’s port, beach, village amenities, and breathtaking views are all enough to keep you away from the ‘mainland’ for a short while. Holidays in Sennen are the dream seaside experience if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

Sennen is Cornwall’s most westerly surf hot spot, picking up the brunt of Atlantic swells. With white sand and turquoise water, the waves here always look inviting, but can pack a punch. Learn in safety with Sennen Surfing Centre or Smart Surf School. RNLI Lifeguards patrol the beach here during peak times.

Out of the water, find self-catering holiday cottages in Sennen Cove, along with restaurants, galleries, and shops, which you can dip in and out of, plus a 150-year-old lifeboat station open to visitors in summer.

The Pedn-men-du promontory protects the cove from the westerly Atlantic gales, and is THE spot to storm watch in the winter and popular with climbers in the warmer months. From here, you can walk the stunning 1.5-mile walk to the UK’s most south-westerly point, Land’s End, spotting shipwrecks on route. Or head in the other direction to St Just, and eventually St Ives, for tough walks and sweeping drives.

Choose one of our Sennen cottages this year and make your stay perfect.

Take a look at nearby St Ives for an alternative beach getaway.

Food and drink

This seaside destination packs in many eating options for a small village on the edge of the UK, and holidays in Sennen are a foodie experience. You’ll find several cafes along the waterfront, and pub grub at the Old Success Inn and First & Last Inn.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome along the entire stretch of the South West Coast Path. They are welcome on Sennen Beach, except between 15 May and 30 September (10am–6pm), when a seasonal dog ban is in place.

Gwynver Beach, accessed from Sennen at low tide or along the coastal path, is dog-friendly all year round.

Accessibility

Access to the beach is suitable for disabled visitors, with ample car parking available in several car parks by the beach.
