This three-bedroom beach house sits high above Sennen Cove in west Cornwall, offering families and small groups a retreat with a magical 'edge of the world' feel. Sleeping six guests, the property enjoys a clifftop position with picture-perfect views towards the cove, the Atlantic Ocean, and rolling countryside. The little village of Sennen is a hotchpotch of sturdy granite cottages with an ancient, classically Cornish air – though on a sunny day the pale, almost white sand and turquoise water give the beach a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.
Inside, the spacious open-plan living room features floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in, creating a light-filled space with cosy shutters and patio doors leading to the garden. Two four-seater sofas, a three-seater sofa, and two armchairs face towards the sea views, alongside a 50-inch TV and a feature gas fireplace. Around the corner, the fully equipped kitchen includes a Rangemaster double oven and American-style fridge freezer, with a breakfast bar seating four and a dining table for up to eight. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with garden views and an en-suite with bath and shower. Two further bedrooms each have super-king zip-and-link beds that can be made into singles, with a family bathroom and separate shower room also available. A utility room provides a washing machine, dryer, and ironing facilities, and Wi-Fi is included. Outside, a patio with wicker table and chairs for six is ideal for sundowners and alfresco dining, while the enclosed garden with Cornish stone walls enjoys fantastic sea views. Off-road parking is available for three cars.
Guests can walk to Sennen beach in just 10 minutes down a beautiful coastal path with dramatic viewpoints along the way. Cliff-path walks along this most rugged of coastline, surfing, body boarding, and pub lunches are all part of life here – a corner of Cornwall far from the hectic pace of modern life. The beach has lifeguard cover throughout the summer season. St Ives is a short drive away, home to the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, with great shopping and plenty of restaurants and cafes.
