February half term is the perfect opportunity to embrace the late winter weather. In Cornwall, you’ll spend more time outdoors and in the elements, something you may not feel inclined to do on stormy days at home. Because what’s a bit of rain when you’re suited, booted and submerged in the surf?
Enjoy blustery coastal walks, wave watching, and perhaps even a bracing sea dip, seeking shelter in cosy harbourside pubs or your own beachside retreat where you can continue to watch the water pummel the sand as you warm up.

Or, spot them in the wild below the cliffs at Mutton Cove in Hayle, where they often bask on the sand – just be sure to keep the noise down as to not disturb their nap time. For a wet-weather-friendly day out, head to Newquay Zoo to meet over 130 species of the worlds rarest and most endangered animals.
