THE WALK TO THE BEACH?

A choice within a 15 minute drive – Harlyn, Treyarnon, Porthcothan, Trevone, Constantine and Hawkers Cove.


Where Is It?

Little Petherick is a classic Cornish hamlet of a scattering of houses and a beautiful little church, located in a wooded valley a couple of miles south of Padstow on a tidal tributary of the Camel Estuary. While Little Petherick is an oasis of peace and quiet, Padstow and Wadebridge offer great shopping and dining within a few minutes' drive away.

Inside:

  • Sand Pails is one of a small row of houses called Saints Way built on the tributary edge, with the tidal water literally in front of your terrace. No traffic, just an exclusive location. The perfect antidote to the bustling shops and thriving harbour of Padstow - your place to relax in peace and quiet and hopefully see some migrating wading birds who visit the creek.
  • Spacious, light and very comfortable accommodation with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
  • Open plan living area with laminate and natural slate flooring, comfortable seating including a double sofabed for extra guests, flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi and CD player.
  • Patio doors to the large private waterside terrace, with table, chairs, barbecue and lockable gate and ladder leading down onto the water.
  • Dining area with table and 4 chairs and a spiral staircase (may be difficult for the elderly and small children) leading up to the main bedroom.
  • Kitchen with contemporary maple units and built-in oven, hob and washing machine. Fridge with freezer compartment.
  • High chair provided. Iron, ironing board, hairdryer
  • Heating

Sleeping:

  • First floor double bedroom with patio doors onto a small a small balcony overlooking the creek.
  • First floor bathroom with bath, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
  • Ground floor bedroom with single bed and pull-out second single.
  • Ground floor shower room with shower enclosure, WC and basin.

Outside:

  • Private furnished waterside terrace with table chairs and barbecue.
  • Small first floor balcony overlooking the water, accessed from the master bedroom.
  • Off-road parking adjacent to the house for one car

Need to know:

  • Sorry, no pets.
  • Refundable damage deposit of £100, due with full balance.
  • No smoking anywhere on the premises.

  • Book a 3 or 5 night break and get an extra 2 nights free. This offer is only available after October half-term and before Easter, excluding school holidays. Only available to book by telephone on 01637 861005.

What Can I Walk To?

  • Sand Pails is the perfect base for walking. The energetic guest will enjoy the footpath leading along the tributary from the front door to the Camel Trail along the river's edge, to Padstow in one direction and Wadebridge in the other. What could be better than a slow walk into Padstow, pick up fish and chips from Rick Stein's takeaway, exploring the shops and galleries, then a slow walk back.
  • Also within walking distance is The Ring O'Bells pub in St Issey.
  • Padstow and Wadebridge are both an easy drive (10 minutes or less); both offer shopping, dining and attractions.
  • For keen cyclists, the Camel Trail runs very close to the property and offers level, traffic free cycling to Padstow in one direction and Wadebridge in the other.
  • The local bus service runs several times a day between Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin, stopping at Little Petherick.
