Guest Reviews

Property was great and a well equipped and tastefully furnished cottage. Ideal for a family of 4. Great location.
Beautiful cottage just metres from Mousehole harbour - very clean (COVID precautions adhered too) and comfortable. Decor was all carefully curated and beds very comfortable with good quality linen. Nice touch was the bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival - we were able to pre-order groceries prior to our arrival which had all been put away for us. Would definitely book with Beach Retreats again and we like the fact that you can speak to them by phone with any queries - seems well organised from start to finish.
We found the cottage to be really cute and cozy. The decor was really to our taste and the location is great. Everything had been thought of to help us enjoy our stay.
After a very long trip once there we settled in quickly. The lay out is a little quirky with two access doors across a passageway, one leading to kitchen/dining room and the other to the living room. We had to keep remembering to lock both doors and for the first couple of days we went up and down stairs a lot. Most importantly it was near the harbour and hub of the village where there is a Post office, couple of cafes etc. We were surprised that no dogs were allowed at any time on the beach or piers though. The very narrow streets and limited local parking were the main issues, but it helped somewhat that car parking fees were refunded. Inside the cottage was lovely. The kitchen was small but well stocked with equipment and even some tea, coffee, cleaning materials and a dishwasher. The dining room was a good size and we received a bottle of wine and lovely chocolates on arrival. Thank you! Both bedrooms were very comfortable and beautifully styled. The 2nd bedroom had 3 single beds. The bathroom with bath and shower was lovely. Well stocked with towels. Loved the shower. The cottage was the perfect hideaway for a few days. We just about managed to secure reservations at 2 Fore Street, the Ship Inn and Old Coastguard (lovely food and great service). Mousehole was very busy so book early! Overall we had a marvellous visit to Mousehole. We visited St Ives via Penzance by bus one day. It took a while but it was relaxing. I walked the dog along the coastal paths each day and we enjoyed wandering around the lovely narrow lanes, taking pictures of the cottages.
We booked Pilot's Cottage in Mousehole for a relaxing break over New Year and the cottage exceeded our expectations in every way! Beautifully decorated, perfectly kitted out with everything we needed and the comfiest of beds. Location was right in the harbour but tucked away from the main street. Would recommend this for anyone wanting a relaxing little escape.
Beautiful and immaculate property in great location. Very will furnished with lots of cosy cushions, throws and dimable light fittings throughout. Great to have radios in the bedrooms and dining room. Good choice of DVDs for a night in. Thoughtful features such as candles, matches, picnic basket and cushions, coins for the parking. And loved the quirky layout with two staircases!
