Self-catering holidays in Padstow
A harbour town and foodie destination on the Camel Estuary
Explore the foodie lover’s paradise of Padstow, where harbourside days and fine-dining nights await. There’s plenty of time for meandering independent shops and cafes, crabbing off the harbour walls, or sampling some Cornish ice cream.
It’s easy to while away the hours in this picture-book town, home to the cooking mastery of Rick Stein, but if you crave sandy feet and sea air, you’ve got beaches within arm’s reach. Take the short walk from one of our Padstow cottages to the closest beach, catch the ferry or water taxi across to Rock and its sandy, surfer-approved shores, or hop in the car on a 7-mile drive to Trevone, the first of the ‘Seven Bays’.
Padstow showcases the best of Cornwall, inviting long, blustery strolls, water sports sessions, boat trips, and cosy pub evenings. Its prime position on the North Cornish coast means you’re near plenty of other local gems, too, with Port Isaac and Boscastle in one direction, and Harlyn Bay in the other.
Food and drink
Padstow is every seafood lover’s dream. It’s home to Rick Stein's iconic The Seafood Restaurant, alongside St Petroc’s Bistro, Rick Stein's Cafe, and Stein's Fish & Chips. Or, you can head from one of our holiday cottages in Padstow to Michelin-starred Paul Ainsworth’s No 6 or Caffe Rojano for a fine-dining experience.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome on most beaches around Padstow, except for St George’s Cove, which has restrictions during July and August between 10am and 6pm.
Accessibility
There are disabled spaces in all public car parks, and these incur a charge. WCs with disabled facilities can be found on the North Quay.
