We’re delighted to announce that Beach Retreats is now officially the best property manager in the South West!

We recently attended the Short Term Accommodation Association’s Property Management Awards in London, where we were announced as winners of the Property Management category for the South West of England.

We put our guests and owners the heart of what we do, working around the clock to ensure everything runs smoothly. In doing so, our owners can sit back and relax, knowing their property is in great hands, while guests make the most of what’s most important – enjoying precious moments at the beach. 

Here’s an insight into our work, and why we’ve earnt the title.

We run things right

We’re so glad that the STAA has acknowledged our hard work and dedication. Our success has shone this year, with our repeat bookings sitting at an average of 53%. Why? Because we look after guests before, during and after their stay. We can help guests make the most of their time in Cornwall, reacting to maintenance issues when they happen and putting procedures in place to minimise disruption and create a fantastic first impression. 

How do we do this? We have a team of housekeepers, all employed and trained by Beach Retreats. They’re supported by a team of managers who know the properties intimately, have a flexible and reactive approach to rotas, and a rigorous standard operating procedure which ensures all properties are ready on time and sparkling for the guest’s arrival.

We’re developing

In a fast-moving digital world, we made the decision to move our printed guest directories to a digital tablet that sits in all of our properties for guest use. Our goal was to deliver a truly authentic, local-expert resource for guests, while ensuring they have everything they need during their stay at their fingertips.  

The tablets have a live connection to our reservation software, delivering a ‘custom check-in’ for each guest with their details, specific property information, and local area information relative to where they are staying. 

We’re eco-friendly

At Beach Retreats, we know how important it is to care for the environment around us. We live and breathe the outdoor lifestyle, so we try to protect nature in everything we do, wherever we can. That’s why we have already implemented the below and are now working towards Certified B Corporation status. 

• Electric company branded vehicles 
• Cycle to work initiative 
• DocuSign paperless contracts 
• Digital guest directories in the form of tablets
• Monthly communications to owners on how to be make their homes more sustainable
• Encouraging owners to add solar panels or electric car chargers for both owner and guest use
• Our local expert guides encourage guests to stay ‘local’ recommending all things to see and do within walking distance of their property, so they don’t need to use a car during their stay
• Use of local suppliers for welcome packs 
• Providing space for bulk buying when it comes to ordering items in for our welcome hampers, thus limiting unnecessary journeys
• Created a new procurement policy which will act as a checklist for ensuring responsible purchasing

We care

We come from humble beginnings, and we’re a local, family-owned agency which cares for its guests and owners. 

We help our guests with everything from being locked out to helping navigate road works, to dropping off an extra towel or returning the teddy bear that’s been left behind. 

We look after our owners with always-there support covering health and safety and compliance (we’ve never let a guest into a property without a fire risk assessment, up to date gas safety certificate, EICR certificate or appropriate levels of insurance), pricing and occupancy guidance, decor and furnishings or any other aspect of holiday letting.
