Say hello to our brand-new development, The Lookout: five innovative eco-homes directly on the Widemouth Bay coastline. Each Lookout retreat is designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding rural environment, harmonising with the natural ebb and flow of the coastline. With planted grass roofs, individual curved patio areas planted with wildflowers, and eco features such as air source heat pumps and EV chargers, these retreats offer sustainable holidaying in one of Cornwall’s most untouched stretches of coast.

- The Lookout is so close to the beach that you can jump from bed to board, walking barefoot in your wetsuit to the sand for a morning surf. Check the swell without even leaving your retreat, with sea views from almost every room.
- Soak up views of Black Rock Beach, the wild north end of Widemouth Bay, with rugged rocks, crashing waves, sunrises, sunsets, gulls, beach walkers, dolphins on the horizon and more. See it all from the comfort of your sofa, balcony or hot tub.
Shorefront living
- The location couldn’t be any better. You’ll be staying directly on the beach, where you can pop back during a day in the waves to grab lunch from the kitchen. You’re seconds from great local facilities, including a surf hire directly next door and a beach café for brunching, lunching and coffee fixes all day long. Plus, direct access to the coast path seconds from your front door means you can walk for miles.
- Leave the car behind and find everything you need on foot, with three pubs walking distance away, and Bude’s town centre a scenic walk along the coast (with buses running to and fro).

Dog-friendly
Dogs are welcome in all of The Lookout retreats, and you are perfectly situated directly on the Black Rock end of Widemouth Bay, which is dog friendly year-round. The area is great for four-legged friends, as beyond the huge stretch of sand, which is every dog’s dream, you also have instant access to the coast path for long morning dog walks, and a communal garden area plus private patio and balcony spaces for nap and play time.
The area
Widemouth Bay is a long unspoilt stretch of sandy beach and craggy cliffs that is all about a sense of space – a ‘big sky’ feel and an endless horizon. In Cornwall’s northern corner near the coastal town of Bude, this stretch of coastline is known for its great surf and watersports. With lifeguard cover throughout the summer season, Widemouth is a great spot for beginners and more seasoned surfers alike.
The bay has a relaxed vibe, with a handful of pubs and cafes and friendly locals. It’s also the dream destination for those wanting to get away from it all, with plenty of rural beauty, countryside and coast path for miles either side.
