This ocean-view retreat sits directly on the Widemouth Bay coastline in North Cornwall, offering families and groups of up to eight a front-row seat to one of the county’s most unspoilt stretches of coast. Part of a development of five eco-homes designed to blend into the surrounding rural landscape, the property features a planted grass roof, wildflower patio areas, and air-source heat pumps. Sea views stretch from almost every room, and the beach is just beyond the front door.
The top floor presents an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space beneath a curved roof, with sliding doors opening onto a sea-view balcony. Two sofas, armchairs, and a Smart TV make the living area a comfortable spot, with the ocean still in your eyeline, while a large natural wood dining table seats eight beneath feature pendant lighting. The kitchen includes everything needed for a self-catered stay, including a central island with bar stools. Two king-size bedrooms on the floor below open onto the patio, each with handmade headboards. A third bedroom offers zip-and-link beds configurable as a double or twin beds, while the fourth bedroom has a triple bunk with a double base and a single on top — all four bedrooms boast en-suite facilities featuring rainfall showers and heated towel rails. Outside, the curved patio offers a wildflower-planted area, al fresco dining furniture, and a hot tub facing the ocean, while the first-floor balcony with rattan furniture is a great spot for sunsets and stargazing. There are also two designated parking spaces.
Widemouth Bay is a long stretch of sandy beach and craggy cliffs known for reliable surf, with lifeguard cover throughout summer. Surf hire and lessons are available nearby, and the South West Coast Path runs directly past the property, with miles of scenic walking in both directions. Several pubs and a beach cafe are within walking distance, while Bude (3.5 miles) offers restaurants, shops, and activities including coasteering, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and bike hire.
