The Beach, Porthtowan

Walk down the path for a surf before breakfast or while the day away on the balcony watching the beach life below. The Beach apartments combine contemporary interiors with uninterrupted beach views, allocated parking, surf storage and an outdoor shower on the path leading directly to the beach. With the village, beach-side restaurant and the coastal path on your doorstep, it’s the perfect bolt-hole holiday break.

Porthtowan is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and its Blue Flag awarded beach is its big draw – one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing spots backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs. Low tide exposes a long expanse of which you can walk along to Chapel Porth, the next equally as stunning beach managed by the National Trust.

The coastal path between the two – and further along to St Agnes – takes in some of the county’s best remains of its rich mining heritage with stunning views out to sea. This is a wild part of the coast with RNLI lifeguards patrolling the beach from May to September and other peak times.
