Explore Cornwall’s dramatic cliffs and unspoilt coastline

This is a place of contrasts: high granite heathland, dramatic ocean cliffs, smuggler’s caves, long golden sands, and crumbling mine chimney stacks. If you enjoy getting off the beaten track, but want stunning scenery and the benefits of a lively Cornish village, our St Agnes cottages are for you.

The iconic Wheel Coates mine shaft stands in testament to St Agnes’ rich mining history – an area recognised as a World Heritage Site. It’s also situated in a National Landscape, and with over 70 footpaths and bridleways, and direct access to the South West Coast Path, it’s a great base for exploratory walks when staying in one of our self-catering holiday cottages in St Agnes.

Take your pick from not one, but four local beaches, including Trevaunance Cove and Trevellas Porth. The vast low tide walk from Chapel Porth Beach to the surfer’s choice of Porthtowan is also a must.

Not forgetting the village itself. St Agnes has a vibrant arts and crafts scene, as well as a flurry of independent shops and businesses to explore.

Food and drink

Once you tire of visiting the butchers for local meats and cheeses to cook at home, there are plenty of places in St Agnes for food and drink.

Families are happily catered for with the usual favourites of fish and chips, pizzerias, and bakeries, alongside coffee shops and cafes. For a small village, you’ll also find many pubs and finer eating establishments, which are worth a visit.

Can I bring my dog?

Trevaunance Cove is a dog-friendly beach all year round. The stunning South West Coast Path is also heaven for walkers and their four-legged friends.

Accessibility

Pay and display car parks are situated at the top of the village and at Trevaunance Cove, where there is level access to the beach. Disabled public WCs are available here and in the centre of the village. Lifeguard services run seasonally at Trevaunance Cove and Chapel Porth.
