Where is it?
The Beacon is a five bedroomed terraced seafront retreat with incredible views of Widemouth Bay. It is part of a brand-new development, The Lookout: five innovative eco-homes directly on the Widemouth Bay coastline. Each Lookout retreat is designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding rural environment, harmonising with the natural ebb and flow of the coastline. With planted grass roofs, individual curved patio areas planted with wildflowers, and eco features such as air source heat pumps, these retreats offer sustainable holidaying in one of Cornwall’s most untouched stretches of coast.
At a glance:
- The Beacon is so close to the beach that you can jump from bed to board, walking barefoot in your wetsuit to the sand for a morning surf. Check the swell without even leaving your retreat, with sea views from almost every room.
- The location couldn’t be any better. You’ll be staying directly on the beach, where you can pop back during a day in the waves to grab lunch from the kitchen. You’re seconds from great local facilities, including a surf hire directly next door and a beach café for brunching, lunching and coffee fixes all day long. Plus, direct access to the coast path seconds from your front door means you can walk for miles.

The area:
Widemouth Bay is a long unspoilt stretch of sandy beach and craggy cliffs that is all about a sense of space, a 'big sky' feel and an endless horizon. In Cornwall's northern corner near the coastal town of Bude, this stretch of coastline is known for its great surf and watersports opportunities. With lifeguard cover throughout the summer season, Widemouth is a great spot for beginners and more seasoned surfers alike. The bay has a relaxed vibe, with a handful of pubs and cafes and friendly locals. It’s also the dream destination for those wanting to get away from it all, with plenty of rural beauty, countryside and coast path for miles either side.
Less than 3 miles away, Bude has plenty of restaurants and a wide range of shops, from essential supermarkets to surf and lifestyle stores. If you're looking for some adrenaline-fuelled fun, there are all kinds of activities on offer nearby, including coasteering, surf, windsurf and kitesurf lessons, stand up paddleboarding, bike hire, canoeing and kayaking. -

- A five bedroomed, four bathroomed retreat with spacious interiors and plenty of natural light.
- The property is over 2 floors however the bedroom levels are slightly staggered with several steps down to the rooms
- Upstairs open plan living, dining and kitchen space, leading out to a large balcony with sea views.
- Living space features two sofas, two armchairs, coffee table, lamps and TV.
- Large central dining table seating 10, with feature hanging lights.
- Fully equipped kitchen, with cosy snug seating next to the central island, making for the perfect socialising space where wave watching, cooking and good conversation flow.
- Kitchen also features double oven with microwave, Quooker hot tap, induction hob on the central island, three bar stools, fridge/freezer and doors to the balcony with sea views.
- Rear facing windows where you can see the grass roofs of the retreat and extra light can come in.
- Colourful coastal artwork, cosy cushions and throws, and plenty of houseplants create a homely yet beach-chic feel.

- Fifth ground floor bedroom with double bunk beds (single on top), bean bag chair and ensuite with walk in rainfall shower, WC and basin.
- Family bathroom with bath, walk-in rainfall shower, WC, heated towel rail and basin (shared by bedrooms two and three).
