Gather in open-plan living spaces or retreat to the reading nook with a book and a blanket. Bedrooms are serene, the kitchen bright and sociable, and the views – stretching to the Longships Lighthouse and Isles of Scilly – are nothing short of mesmerising.

Outside, you’re surrounded by nature. Lush greenery rolls down the cliffs, fields of cows graze peacefully nearby, and the air is filled with birdsong. Start your morning with yoga on the sun-warmed terrace, and end your evening wrapped in blankets by the fire pit, watching the sky shift from blush pink to inky blue as the sun dips into the sea. This is the kind of place where time slows, conversations deepen, and the horizon always seems to call.

Day 1: Arrive and relax

Settle in, unpack, and graze on your handpicked Cornish Food Box in the Mediterranean-inspired garden. Bask in the sun and soak up glittering sea views.

The best refresher after a long drive is to get in the water. Head down to Sennen for a surf lesson, where you can choose between Smart Surf School – a husband-and-wife duo running lessons year-round – or Sennen Surfing Centre, both offering group and private surf lessons. For thrill-seekers, try Kernow Coasteering for an exhilarating off-beach adventure.

End your evening unwinding with the sunset from the house’s terrace. With direct views westward across the ocean, sunsets here are nothing short of spectacular: vivid pinks and fiery oranges streak across the sky, often paired with dramatic cloud formations. No two evenings are the same, and you’ll want to step outside and catch the show – though from this house, it’s almost impossible to miss.

Day 2: Explore Sennen

Walk the coast path to Sennen Cove, where seaside life is always buzzing. Discover The Roundhouse & Capstan art gallery, then grab freshly cooked fish and chips at the Blue Lagoon, where everything is prepared to order. For equipment hire (or gear shopping), pop into Sennen Surf Co., a well-loved beach shop.

Newly reopened, Sennen Surf Lodge offers a fresh, relaxed menu and a perfect spot for a bottle of wine or cocktail at wooden tables with ocean views. Dog friendly too, it serves coffee and tea all day, outside of food hours.

Looking for marine wildlife? Book a boat tour from Penzance – Mermaids or Atlantic Adventures are our favourites – for dolphin and seal spotting out west. It’s the perfect way to round off a day spent shoreside.

Day 3: St Michael’s Mount and Marazion

Perfect for a morning or afternoon trip, the iconic St Michael’s Mount lies just 8 miles away. Walk the causeway at low tide or take the boat at high tide and enter a real-life fairy-tale castle still lived in by the St Aubyn family. Managed by the National Trust, the Mount is rich in history and legend – listen out for tales of Jack the Giant Killer and the heart of the petrified giant, Cormoran, still said to be visible in the stone.

In Marazion, stroll through independent shops and art galleries, visit the family-friendly beach and nearby play park, or head to The Godolphin for sea views and relaxed dining.

Day 4: Minack Theatre and Newlyn

Enjoy a lazy morning with your feet up, a good book and your choice of sea view sofa. Or enjoy breakfast in bed and take your morning coffee to the master suite balcony. Then, head south to the breathtaking Minack Theatre, followed by Porthcurno Beach or hidden Pedn Vounder – both known for their crystalline waters and dramatic cliffs.

On your way back, stop in Newlyn, a working fishing town now buzzing with an artistic and culinary revival. Don’t miss Argoe or Mackerel Sky, both an absolute must for dinner. The Newlyn Filmhouse, an indie cinema housed in a former fish cellar, makes a great evening stop.

Day 5: Dog-friendly days

Enjoy dog-friendly freedom if you’ve brought your four-legged friend along for the trip. Let them roam freely in the spacious, gated garden before heading out for a long walk. Gwynver Beach is also dog friendly year-round, which is a massive bonus for dog owners, as it means beach walks are unlimited.

Stroll to the pub in Sennen, take the direct path to Gwynver Beach, or plan a day trip to the picturesque Gurnard’s Head or Cape Cornwall. On the way back from the latter, treat yourself to a cheeky ice cream at the dog-friendly Moomaid of Zennor in St Just.

You can also walk to both Botallack and Geevor Tin Mine along the spectacular coastline, discovering stunning views and fascinating history. Explaining and celebrating Cornwall’s tin mining history, it’s perfect for a rainy day – just as good for adults as it is for the little ones.

Day 6: Day trips

Choose your adventure. Take the scenic coastal train to St Ives, where golden beaches and art galleries abound. Dine at the beloved Porthminster Beach Café, known for beautifully prepared local seafood, from St Ives Bay mackerel to Cornish crab linguine – served with unbeatable sea views just metres from the shore.

Or take to the skies: Land’s End Airport, just a couple of miles from the house, offers flights to the magical Isles of Scilly – a unique archipelago where white sands, turquoise waters and tropical plants await. (The planes even fly right over the house – look down and spot Gwynver from above!)

Other day trip options include the adorable fishing village of Mousehole, known for its famous Christmas lights during the festive months.

Day 7: Forage and feast

Discover the wild food on your doorstep in Gwynver and the surrounding area with Rachel Lambert’s bespoke foraging sessions. Rachel covers coastal, seaweeds, hedgerow, field and woodland plants, and offers private sessions. Take what you’ve foraged home to cook dinner at Gwynver Beach House’s light-filled kitchen.

End the day with a sunset yoga session in the landscaped garden, sea-view terrace or in the serene living space, timing your flow with the calming rhythm of the waves.
