    The area

Widemouth Bay is a long unspoilt stretch of sandy beach and craggy cliffs that is all about a sense of space, a 'big sky' feel and an endless horizon. In Cornwall's northern corner near the coastal town of Bude, this stretch of coastline is known for its great surf and watersports opportunities. With lifeguard cover throughout the summer season, Widemouth is a great spot for beginners and more seasoned surfers alike. The bay has a relaxed vibe, with a handful of pubs and cafes and friendly locals. It’s also the dream destination for those wanting to get away from it all, with plenty of rural beauty, countryside and coast path for miles either side.

Three miles away, Bude has plenty of restaurants and a wide range of shops, from essential supermarkets to surf and lifestyle stores. If you're looking for some adrenaline-fuelled fun, there are all kinds of activities on offer nearby, including coasteering, surf, windsurf and kitesurf lessons, stand up paddleboarding, bike hire, canoeing and kayaking.

Guest Reviews

"Gaia is a luxurious property right beside the stunning beach at Widemouth Bay. You are literally a few steps from the beach and a few steps from the Cornish coast path. There is so much to keep everyone entertained, there was never be a dull moment in our holiday beside the sea. Surf and wetsuit rentals as well as surfing lessons are available close by. The cinema room is very well appointed and there is a hot tub and sauna. The owners have done a superb job creating a contemporary house but with cosy spaces to ensure people of all ages get the space and activities they need. Excellent WiFi is provided by a Starlink receiver, so you are not isolated from the benefits of modern technology despite being off the beaten path."

"This is a very special place that my family will return to again and again no doubt. It is a haven from the busy-ness of many coastal locations. The views are simply breath-taking and the house is luxuriously appointed with every detail taken care of. I could just sit and watch the surfers from the lounge or one of the terraces all day! The beach is just a few steps away. With so much to do –sauna, cinema, hot-tub etc- you rarely feel the need to venture out. Pubs and a shop are a short walk on the coastal footpath if desired though. Gaia is full of thoughtful touches like the electric car charging point, outside shower, wetsuit rack etc. Highly recommended."

"Gaia is a beautiful house in an amazing location just a few steps from the dramatic beach at Widemouth Bay. My family of six had an amazing stay. You can walk to three different pubs/restaurants if desired but we rarely ate out, the house is such a pleasure to stay in and the views from the dining table are stunning! In fact, you could park your car for a week or two and not take it out again.

It was a joy sometimes to simply watch the waves roll in and the ebb and flow of the tide. The bedrooms are all en-suite and luxuriously equipped. The garden is private and great for sunbathing or for younger children to play safely. See you soon!"
