THE BEST THING ABOUT:

The traffic-free location, complete with perfect little garden, picket fence and extraordinary view over the bay.

THE WALK TO THE BEACH?

A 200 metre amble down the footpath to the sand at the foot of the cliffs.

Where Is It?

Whitsand Bay is a wide, dramatic arc of coast, with a long sandy beach dotted with craggy rocks and backed by high cliffs. This beautiful stretch of Cornwall is a great place to get away from all the hectic demands of modern life. Pottering about on the sand, exploring the winding cliff paths and strolling to the nearby cafe for lunch, making life simple and relaxing is what Whitsand Bay is all about.

If you need a fix of city distractions, Plymouth, with all its theatres, cinemas, cafes, restaurants and shops, is a short drive away; if you fancy all that a classic seaside town offers, Looe is a similar distance in the other direction.

Inside:

  • Lovely single storey cabin-style holiday home in a traffic-free cliffside location.
  • Stunning views over Whitsand Bay, Rame Head and out to sea.
  • Detached property surrounded by its own landscaped private garden with decking, lawned areas and mature shrubs and flowers.
  • Classic 'beach hut' style decor creates a relaxed vibe.
  • Living room with wonderful sea views and double glass doors opening onto the decking area, contemporary wood-burning stove (logs provided), television with Freeview and integral DVD player and selection of books, DVDs and local Ordnance Survey maps.
  • Kitchen/dining area with breakfast bar and four stools, oven, hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine.
  • Electric heating and Wi-Fi throughout.
  • Iron and ironing board provided.

Sleeping:

  • Double bedroom with wardrobe and shelves.
  • Twin bedroom with bunk beds and wardrobe, perfect for children.
  • Shower room with single shower enclosure.
  • Separate cloakroom with WC and basin.

Outside:

  • Lovely, well established south-facing sea-view garden with furnished decking and lawns.
  • Unallocated off road parking adjacent to the road, approximately 100 metres up the footpath.

Need To Know:

  • The property is accessed via a footpath from the parking spaces, approximately 100 metres.
  • Sorry, no pets.
  • Sorry, no smoking within the property.
  • Refundable damage deposit of £100, due with full balance.
  • Short breaks available outside of school holidays.
  • Book a 3 or 5 night break and get an extra 2 nights free. This offer is only available after October half-term and before Easter, excluding school holidays. Only available to book by telephone on 01637 861005.
  • Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems due to the nature of the footpath used to access The Meadow.
  • The beach is reached by steep paths and steps, when you get down (there's plenty of stopping points to admire the view on the way) it's worth it as at low tide the long stretch of glistening sand provides some great walking, running and surfing with the right conditions.

What Can I Walk To:

  • Whitsand Bay beach 3 minutes.
  • Cliff Top Cafe (1 minute walk).
  • The Vaults Restaurant at Whitsand Bay Holiday Park (5 minute walk).

Within a short drive is Cawsand Bay, with cafes, shops and surf hire. A little further to the east is Plymouth, with everything a big city offers, or a few miles west you'll find the seaside town of Looe with seafood restaurants, pubs and even a monkey sanctuary!

GUEST COMMENTS

  • Very cosy with everything that's needed. Amazing Views, modern & log burner a bonus. Nights were peaceful, we didn't hear a thing & slept brilliantly -comfy bed
    VB, March 2016

  • We loved staying at the meadow, ideally situated on the cliff side, the interior is tasteful with all mod cons.the log fire was very accommodating with the chilly evenings. The owners left us with an welcome pack which was gratefully received. The weather was fantastic and really helped us to get the maximum of eating alfresco. It's a great little chalet with beautiful surroundings. we would love to return at some point.
    LG, September 2018

  • Our little boy loved the garden - bats, bunnies and lots of birds sighted and with lots of flowers and plants to water, monsters to hunt, and plenty of snails and spiders to chase we had loads of fun.

  • I was suprised with a visit to this beautiful chalet as a birthday treat, and what a treat it was! We have enjoyed exploring the coastline and having a drink outside on the decking. We even had a game of scrabble! You have a wonderful place here, thank you for sharing. We will be back
    BI, May 2017

  • We had a lovely time in The Meadow. The property was in a perfect location for our family and we were able to explore the local area with ease. The walk down to Whitsand Beach was well worth it - it is probably the most stunning beach we have ever visited.
