THE BEST THING ABOUT:

The stunning location with panoramic sea views and secluded peace and quiet.

THE WALK TO THE BEACH?

250 metres down the cliff-side path

Where Is It?

Whitsand Bay is situated in South East Cornwall and runs from Rame Head in the East to Portwrinkle in the West. Otherwise known as 'Cornwall's forgotten corner', it is characterised by sheer, high cliffs, dramatic scenery and long stretches of sandy beaches. Tregonhawke is a popular beach for families with plenty of rock pools to explore and a great surfing spot with an RNLI lifeguard service operating between May-September. There's a whole host of water activities close by with a surf school on the beach offering surf lessons, wetsuit, surfboard and paddle board hire along with coasteering and for the more adventurous there is fishing and diving off the wreck of HMS Scylla in the bay. The award winning View Cafe is a great spot for a meal and at the bottom of the cliffs at Tregonhawke Beach the Eddystone Cafe is an ideal place to grab a coffee and just enjoy the stunning views.

Our third visit to the cliff and by far the best! This place is like being in Heaven! We were blessed with 14 days of glorious sunshine and sunsets to die for. We did not budge but only to replenish food and wine and the odd walk to the beach. We arrived stressed and are leaving totally relaxed. We are sad to leave this beautiful place but look forward to May 16 when we return. Thanks Mel it has been truly wonderful!
A&L, Manchester

Inside:

  • Shell Seekers is 100 metres from the road/parkingdown the cliff via a path.
  • The open plan living area is filled with natural light and a great place to sit watching the azure views turn to moody skies. If you are lucky you might even see a pod of dolphins or occasional basking sharks. It's a real wildlife haven, look out for cormorants, kestrels and peregrine falcons.
  • The modern kitchen is hi-spec with a dishwasher, eye-level oven, microwave, small fridge-freezerand a complete set of cutlery, crockery, glassware and cookware.
  • In the Summer open up the French doors and allow the cabin to fill the air with salty ocean breezes. In the Winter curl up with a book in front of the roaring log burner. The cabin has central heating and there is also a flat screen TV/DVD along with Broadband so perfect throughout the year.
  • Travel cot and high chair, selection of books, games and DVD's, hairdryer, iron and iron board and binoculars have all been provided.

Sleeping:

  • The double bedroom has views across the sea and on a clear night you can watch the Eddystone lighthouse and the fishing boats twinkling in the bay.
  • The second bedroom has a single full length loft bed and a smaller single bed (5ft 5inches). This bedroom is only suitable for children.
  • Family bathroom with power shower over the bath, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

GUEST COMMENTS

  • Cosy comfy cabin with the most engaging sea views ever seen in Cornwall. We didn't need to go out for dinner, so lovely to stay here and soak up the tranquillity.

  • Wow what can I say...The place is stunning, just my kind of holiday. No shops, not many people and so quiet. The view was fantastic and the accommodation was lovely and in keeping with the beach hut feel. So clean and fresh. I would recommend shellseekers.

  • What a perfect week at Shell Seekers. For the first week in November we had the most unbelieveable weather & been able to BBQ and sit with the doors open gazing out at the most wonderful views. This is a really special place and will hold a special place in our hearts. Can't wait to come back.

  • We stayed at Shell Seekers for our honeymoon and found the property as good as we expected. The view is just of the sea and we were very sad on our departure day. There is so much to do and so many beautiful places and beaches to visit within a short drive. Take a cool box and pick up fresh lobster and crab from Looe.
