The Details

Location

Where is it?

Watergate Lodge is a brand-new eco-friendly beach house, located just 400 metres from the beach.

The beat of your heart in the surf, the taste of fried fish and juicy burgers, the smell of sea salt on your skin, the sight of people dotted about, smiling and laughing, in and out of the topaz blue sea. It's all part and parcel of Watergate Bay, the adrenalin junkie's paradise embodying the spirit of the North Cornwall coast.

Scarlet sunsets set the sky alight as you dine in the swanky beachfront eateries or sip hot chocolate on the sand. Watergate's two miles of beach are popular with families, couples and dogs alongside surfers and thrill seekers. Stride out along the coast path, with nearby walks to Newquay's seven bays or Mawgan Porth.

Plunge into water sports lessons from the Extreme Academy, where you can try your hand at surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and kite surfing. The beach is exposed to incoming swell from the Atlantic, making it an excellent place for water activities of all kinds.

The lively atmosphere at Watergate is as constant as the tide, with vibrant music festivals and surf competitions running throughout the year.

Guest Reviews

Beautiful house in a lovely location, very well set up for our group, we loved being there.
We had a wonderful holiday in Watergate Lodge, a super new, architect designed property with top of the range fixtures and fittings and audio and lighting systems to die for. Situated a short 400m walk from the bustling village centre through landscaped, private gardens it provides a perfect balance of convenient access to the beach and the excellent Emily Scott restaurant while being totally peaceful on the roof terrace and in the garden.
While Cornwall is indeed glorious, it was most definitely the house that made our holiday so perfect. The thoughtful design throughout was clearly apparent making it such a sociable space yet also affording people the opportunity to have a little quiet time in one of the many areas. We loved the roof terrace, the furniture on the terrace constantly amazed us - how comfortable and quick drying it was! The style and standard of decor throughout was particularly appreciated.
I just wanted to write and say how fabulous Watergate Lodge has been. It was just fabulous and the owners have put in so much attention to detail to make our stay fabulous. We are already trying to plan a return, we rent properties about 3 times a year for the last 20 years and this hands down has been our favourite!
Watergate Lodge is a 5* experience with accommodation and facilities that are superb. So much space and great integration of technology throughout.
