The Details

Location

Where is it?

Situated between Newquay and Watergate Bay on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Porth is a large, west-facing sandy beach, sheltered by headlands on either side and with a cafe, restaurant and pub right next to the beach.

When children draw a seaside scene, they draw Porth. Streams, rockpools and caves beg to be explored, whilst a sweep of beach provides ample terrain for sandcastle building and sand-fairy making. Families, adventurers and explorers of all ages will lose hour after happy hour here.

A narrow wooden footbridge leads to Porth Island, a headland full of history. Watch in awe at mid tide, particularly on windy days, as the blow hole shoots rainbow sprays of water. Embrace the theatre of Porth Island any time of day or all year round, just wrap up warm and bring a camera to capture dramatic sunrises and storms alike.

Back down on the beach, melted strawberry ice cream drips down sides of candy cones and sizzling tapas is served at Porth's beachside eateries. Once you've soaked up the Porth scene, try heading towards Newquay's bays, up the coast path to Whipsiderry and Watergate, or towards the rolling cliffs of Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan Steps.

Guest Reviews

Hey!! We had a absolutely fabulous time, what a great location!! The beds we're soo comfy and the towels were lovely and soft :) So many great walks and the beach was insane! Coming back to a log fire and a hot chocolate was bliss
We had a fantastic time, the house was well appointed with all that we needed. The facilities were great, with three families staying each had their own bathroom. There was plenty of space for family dining and playing games. The view from the lounge was stunning, the sun set straight in front of us every night.
Perfect cottage, clean ,excellent views. Safe beach for children. Will definitely return to Porth Beach House
We really enjoyed our stay at Porth Beach house. It's rare for the view from the living room window to be even better than that shown on the website but it's definitely the case for this property!
