The Details

Location

Where is it?

Just a stone's throw away from Porth beach; a wide sandy beach sheltered by two headlands, Penthouse at Porth Sands is a contemporary penthouse apartment with a private balcony and stunning coastal views.

When children draw a seaside scene, they draw Porth. Streams, rockpools and caves beg to be explored, whilst a sweep of beach provides ample terrain for sandcastle building and sand-fairy making. Families, adventurers and explorers of all ages will lose hour after happy hour here.

A narrow wooden footbridge leads to Porth Island, a headland full of history. Watch in awe at mid tide, particularly on windy days, as the blow hole shoots rainbow sprays of water. Embrace the theatre of Porth Island any time of day or all year round, just wrap up warm and bring a camera to capture dramatic sunrises and storms alike.

Back down on the beach, melted strawberry ice cream drips down sides of candy cones and sizzling tapas is served at Porth's beachside eateries. Once you've soaked up the Porth scene, try heading towards Newquay's bays, up the coast path to Whipsiderry and Watergate, or towards the rolling cliffs of Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan Steps.

Guest Reviews

Excellent views. Lovely quiet area even though it is near Newquay. Lovely property with all the items you need. Very clean.
We loved the balcony with bi-fold doors, when the door is open we could all sit and admire the lovely view of the beach. The lift was very handy for getting luggage upstairs and although we are on third floor the walk up and down the stairs otherwise did not seem far. The kitchen was very well equipped and as it was part of the lounge was a great social space for 4 of us with an extending dining table. It was very quite at night and cosy. Two bathrooms is great when there are two couples. We would definitely stay again.
Excellent location. Convenient lift more re luggage or tired days. Beach (sandy and RNLI presence)and lovely walks across the road. Excellent beach storage cupboard with everything you would need for beach. Lovely size for small family, mum, dad two kids, advantage of two bedrooms, bath plus ensuite. Superb beach view, two cafes on doorstep. Clean, light rooms, bi-fold doors, balcony option plus essentials; loo rolls, hand wash, cleaning cloths already there. TV's in beds and large one in lounge. All home comforts!
Perfect apartment for people watching with an amazing view over Porth beach. Sitting on the balcony definitely a highlight. Well equipped kitchen. Appreciated the very comfortable bed and high quality bedding too. Also great location on the edge of Newquay but not in the middle. We walked in to Newquay all the time, it took 10 mins and we were very accessible to the coastal path which was a big part of our holiday. Second time in same building which says it all.
The property was very well equipped with everything you could need. The location, across the road from the beach, was perfect and the view from the balcony was wonderful. Beach Retreats were very easy to deal with. I liked the regular emails in the lead up to the holiday with tips and ideas. Would definitely stay at this apartment again and would book with Beach Retreats again.
