The Details

Location

Where Is It?

Porth Farm Cottages are set back a few hundred metres from the village centre and sandy shorefront.

Mawgan Porth is a beach that gets it just right- a stretch of white sand, a swirling ocean and a handful of tasty eateries. Little feet can splash about in the trickling river and leave tiny footprints on the sand, perhaps joined by pawprints (as the beach is dog friendly all year round).

The beachfront street is dotted with shops, cafes and an activity centre, King Surf. Try your hand at mastering the waves or let off steam at the seasonal crazy golf and pitch and putt course, based near a historic Iron Age site.

If you fancy stretching your legs, take the steady amble up the South West coast path towards neighbouring Watergate Bay or Bedruthan Steps, where you can soak up spectacular panoramas. Padstow is a little further afield, 20 minutes away by car.

Guest Reviews

Great place to stay. Well equipped, clean and good quality fixtures/fitting and linen etc. Close to all our favourite things in/near Mawgan Porth - the sea, Cornish Fresh, Bedruthan Steps especially the cafe Scott & Babs.
What a fantastic stay. The cottage is perfect. It has everything and more. So spacious, yet cozy. Great garden to play kubb in. We even cooked a full roast dinner. Would love to go back and take extended family to other cottages
4 Porth Farm Cottages is a beautifully designed and furnished property with everything you could need for a week's stay. Extremely comfy beds, a large kitchen/diner space and a cosy sitting room and log burner. Set up for surfers/body boarders with an outside shower and hanging space to dry wetsuits in the downstairs walk in shower. The layout worked perfectly as we had one older and immobile person who didn't need to use the stairs at all. Also dog friendly, we appreciated the child gate on the stairs, and our dog loved the underfloor heating in the kitchen! With the extra deep cleaning involved due to COVID, we felt very safe going into the property and the owner herself was very helpful in letting us know when the property was available to move into. There is a great track going down the hill which avoids having to use the road for dog walking. We had a great week! Thank you!
The property has character and comfort . Logs are provided for the fire. Ideally located for Mawgan porth Beach/surf,cliff top walk to Watergate Bay and Bedruthan Steps. We have returned regularly since 2016.
Great cottage, comfortable and high quality furnishings. It is great being able to walk down to the beach, with a great food shop (and owners!) good restaurants and facilities without the masses of crowds you find at other places like St Ives.
