A day out at the Falmouth Oyster Festival
Celebrating 20 years of the Falmouth Oyster Festival
We ventured to Falmouth to join in one of Cornwall’s biggest and best-loved specialist food festivals.

The Falmouth Oyster Festival marks the start of the traditional oyster dredging season in Falmouth. The Bay is one of the last remaining oyster fisheries in Europe where only sailing or human powered vessels are used.

The four-day event showcases the native Fal Oyster and the diversity of seafood in Cornwall.

The event takes place in Falmouth’s Events Square which is transformed into a vibrant hub of activity.
Watch live cooking demonstrations and taste delicious dishes from food vendors.

Wander around the stalls and find talented jewellery makers, ceramists and bakers.

Sample food from some of the Festival stall holders. Try a slice of Cornish Gouda from the Cornish Gouda Co.

Taste chilly sea salt from Cornish Sea Salt Co.

Indulge in a chocolate brownie from a local artisan baker.

Discover fresh vegetables from Riverford Organic Farmers, who offer a vegetable delivery service.

Live music acts perform throughout the Festival in the marquee.

Why not grab a coffee from one of the marquee vendors and explore the town to find pop-up eateries hidden down cobbled streets.

In the town watch the colourful oyster parade.
Children from local schools gather to celebrate the Fal Oyster with papier-mâché puppets.

Be a part of next year’s Falmouth Oyster Festival and book your self-catering holiday.
