Fistral Beach needs no introduction – it is the famous UK surfing destination that attracts sportsmen from all over the World. But Fistral is much more than just a surfing spot, there is so much to do and see here so we’re going to tell you about just a few.
North Fistral
At the North end of Fistral beach are great rockpools, teaming with sea life! Arm yourselves with buckets and nets and see what you will discover. The North end is also a great spot to watch the Cribbar, also known as the Widow Maker. It is a reef off the Towan Headland; The Cribbar is best known for creating annual big waves, popular with experienced big wave surfers from across the world.
Events
Each year Fistral beach plays host to so many great events, many of them including extreme sports such as Boardmasters. The surfing contest draws in huge crowds all waiting to see who will be crowned champion.
Coasteering
Coasteering is an incredible experience, swimming jumping, climbing and exploring your way around the coast. Based at Fistral Beach, Bare Feet Coasteer, offer 3 hour Coasteering sessions led by highly experienced coasteer guides. Have a look!
Retail therapy
Fistral beach is close to the town centre in Newquay where you’ll find an abundance of cool surf stores, kitsch Cornish ware boutiques and enough restaurants and cafes to keep you full for weeks!
Dog Friendly
Fistral is a great place to take the dog for a run, it’s dog friendly all year round!
