Perched on Freathy cliff, this dog-friendly two-bedroom cabin is a retreat for families and groups of friends looking to explore Cornwall's "Forgotten Corner." From the property, a nearby path leads down to Sharrow Beach or Polhawn Cove, or you can walk along the cliff to the three-mile expanse of golden sand at Whitsand Bay. This wide, dramatic arc of coast is dotted with craggy rocks and backed by high cliffs. Located on the Rame Peninsula, this beautiful stretch of Cornish coast is bound by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze, and the sea, and forms part of the Cornwall National Landscape.
Inside, the open-plan living area looks out over commanding sea views and includes a 32" smart TV with Freeview and Netflix, a DVD player, sofa, and armchair. French doors open onto the large decked area. The fully equipped kitchen sits alongside a dining area with table and bench seating, and a separate utility room includes a washer/dryer. The master bedroom offers sea views and a king-size bed, while the twin bedroom has storage beds. A family bathroom with walk-in shower completes the interior. Outside, sun loungers, rattan furniture, deck chairs, and a large seating area line the spacious decking, all looking out to sea. A patio with alfresco dining and a gas BBQ is also available, along with a separate storage area for surfboards and beach gear. Please note, the outside area is not enclosed. Shared parking is directly adjacent to the property.
The sandy beach at Tregonhawke, part of Whitsand Bay's five-mile stretch of coast, offers swimming, kayaking, wind and kite surfing, and fishing, with lifeguard cover from May to September. Please note, the footpath down the cliff to the beach is steep and not suitable for wheelchairs or people with limited mobility. Explore the winding cliff-top paths or stroll to a nearby cafe for lunch. A short drive takes you to the coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand (both 4 miles), with cafes, shops, and surf hire. From Kingsand and Cawsand, a ferry will take you across to Plymouth. Further west, the seaside towns of Looe (13 miles) and Polperro (17 miles) have seafood restaurants, pubs, and even a monkey sanctuary.
