This charming detached cottage sits right in the heart of Mousehole, a picture-perfect Cornish fishing village with cobbled streets, sandy coves and a working harbour – ideal for families looking to dive into the magical allure of this legendary corner of Cornwall. With sea views, pretty wildflower gardens and cosy interiors, this characterful retreat sleeps up to six across three bedrooms, with a cot and highchair also available.
Inside, the ground-floor living space features two three-seater sofas, a 43-inch Smart TV and a fireplace, with double doors opening through to the dining area and fully equipped kitchen beyond. The kitchen includes a central island, an Everhot oven and a wine fridge. A lovely conservatory surrounded by greenery offers a rattan sofa and fairy lights, with access to the rear garden and a utility room with washing machine. A ground-floor shower room with walk-in rainfall shower completes the downstairs. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king-size bed and sea views, the second bedroom a super-king zip-and-link bed that can be made into two singles, and the third bedroom twin beds with sea views. The family bathroom has a shower over bath. Outside, beautiful flower-filled landscaped gardens to the front of the house provide the perfect spot to dine alfresco, with a table and chairs for six on the patio beneath a parasol. Two parking spaces are provided – one on the drive and one in the garage – along with an electric car charging point and a large woodstore.
The beach is just a couple of minutes down the lanes towards the harbour front – scour the shores for shells and pebbles, try crabbing in the rockpools or climb the steep hillside to visit the bird sanctuary. The village centre offers an array of shops, cafes and galleries. Penzance and its promenade, lido and shops are around 3 miles away. At low tide, head to Marazion and walk the causeway across to St Michael's Mount, pack a picnic blanket for the Minack Theatre, or spend a whole day on Porthcurno Beach.
