Swim laps of the pool and sink into the cedar hot tub before firing up the barbecue at this bespoke beach house. Experience Caribbean poolside life on a vibrant stretch of the north Cornwall coast, where a surf atmosphere rules. Interior designed throughout by Nicola O’Mara, kick back in this unique beach house with a multitude of living spaces and a cocktail station. Enjoy the bespoke outdoor area, with use of the swimming pool from May to September, and outdoor hot tub all year round. Decorated with a hand painted mural wall, wooden panelling and views of the ocean, transport yourself to somewhere tropical. There’s also an additional cedar lodge sleeping extra guests, with its own kitchenette, lounge and bathroom.

 

Socialise and unwind

Discover an open plan living, dining and kitchen area on the first floor, making the most of the far reaching views and natural light with its apex windows and double doors leading out to a spacious balcony. Here, you’ll find a cosy seating area with sofas, inbuilt bench seating, 65 inch TV and log burner. There’s also a coffee and lounging space in the kitchen, making this area the hub of the home whether you’re cooking or relaxing. Find a handy workstation to the side of the kitchen with a large desk and chair.

You’ll find a second living room tucked away on the ground floor with log burner and TV - perfect for a quieter moment with a book or a film, or serves as the perfect teenager den. There’s also a living space in the cedar lodge with a log burner and TV.

 

Feast

The Beach House is home to a kitchen with all you could need for coastal cooking, from a luxury Rangemaster oven to a six burner hob. Dine at a long bespoke dining table in the centre of the room. Enjoy a feature bar area filled with a range of glassware, from martini glasses to tumblers. You’ll also find a kitchenette in the cedar lodge with a dining table. Outside, there’s a bespoke dining area with built-in charcoal barbecue oven, a bar, outdoor dining furniture, tableware, glassware and an outdoor fridge .

 

Sleep

Discover four double bedrooms in the main house, with a further two bedrooms in the detached cedar lodge. The master bedroom on the ground floor features large sliding doors leading out to the front decking, sea views, a king size bed and plenty of storage with three double wardrobes. Features an ensuite with a walk in shower. Bedroom two, three and four have superking zip & link beds (can be made into two singles). Bedroom two has an en suite with a walk in shower, and there’s also a family bathroom with a freestanding bath and handheld shower, with another separate walk-in shower room close by.

There’s also two bedrooms in the cedar lodge, one superking zip & link (can be made into two singles) and one bespoke children’s room with bunk beds. Plus a shower room.

 

Bask

Swim laps of the 9.5m heated swimming pool, available May to September. Soak in the Canadian cedar hot tub. Discover a stylish undercover changing space with two private shower cubicles, shelving for surfboards and hanging rail for wetsuits. You’ll also find a lawned, enclosed front garden and decking area to the front of the house.

The surroundings

The Beach House sits just above the sandy beach and roaring ocean of Mawgan Porth, just 300 meters away. Mawgan Porth is a beach that gets it just right- a stretch of white sand, a swirling ocean and a handful of tasty eateries. The beachfront street is dotted with shops, cafes and an activity centre, King Surf.

If you fancy stretching your legs, take the steady amble up the South West Coast Path towards neighbouring Watergate Bay or Bedruthan Steps, where you can soak up spectacular panoramas. Both Newquay and Padstow are just 20 minutes away by car.

This is a great house, well equipped and in a good location. Only downside is it's quite a hill down and back up from the beach/pub/shop but it's a short walk and easily doable. Would highly recommend.

We really loved our stay. The house was perfect for such a mixed age group. Was extremely impressed with provision of high chairs, cots and especially all the stair gates were were invaluable. Pool wonderfully warm to swim in.
