This cosy cabin offers a peaceful sanctuary for two on the dramatic coastline of Whitsand Bay, Cornwall. Set in an almost hidden location, well back from the road and away from traffic, it's a restful retreat for pottering about on the sand, exploring winding cliff paths, and strolling to nearby cafes for lunch. Whitsand Bay is a wide arc of coast with a long sandy beach dotted with craggy rocks and backed by high cliffs – a place to leave the hectic demands of modern life behind and keep things simple and relaxing.
Inside, full-width bi-fold glass doors blur the distinction between outside and inside, flooding the open-plan living area with light and providing fantastic views down the coastline and out to sea. The living space features a 'living flame' stove and wall-hung TV with DVD player, while the dining area is set for two. The kitchen has everything needed for holiday meals, and the double bedroom looks out across open countryside, hills and valleys, and also has an en-suite shower room. Outside, a large terrace with sea views offers outdoor seating, a sofa, a chimenea and a gas BBQ, plus a surf shower for rinsing off after the beach. A utility room houses a washer/dryer with space for beach kit. The beach is around 250 metres away – cross over the coast road and head down the cliff path, though please note the path is steep, narrow and uneven and may be difficult for those with reduced mobility. Private off-road parking is available for two cars.
Within a short drive are the villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, where you'll find cafes, shops and surf hire. A little further to the east is Plymouth, with everything a big city offers – theatres, cinemas, restaurants and shops. Head a 13 miles west and you'll reach the seaside town of Looe, with its seafood restaurants and pubs.
