From colourful streets dotted with alternative boutiques to the golf club on the green cliff tops, it is easy to while away hour after happy hour in this bubbly coastal town. A surf school operates on the beach, and restaurants, cafes and convenience stores are nearby in the village centre. Perranporth's central position on the North Cornwall coast also makes it a great base for heading further afield – a short drive takes you to Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay, or head south for the heritage coastline and unspoiled bays of St Agnes.
