This cosy former fisherman's cottage sits in the heart of Mousehole, a picturesque fishing village in west Cornwall, making it an ideal base for couples or families looking to soak up the charm of cobbled streets, a pretty harbour, and the sea just a one-minute walk away. Art galleries, cafes, boutique shops, and restaurants are all within a two-minute stroll, while the village itself – with its yellow lichened fishermen's houses huddled together along narrow lanes – retains its original character and beauty.
Inside, relaxing pastel shades set the tone across two floors. On the ground floor, the fully equipped open-plan kitchen and dining room features a large log burner, a wooden table with five high-back chairs, and a Nespresso coffee machine. A beautiful spiral staircase with a glassed wall leads up to a spacious first-floor living room with a large corner sofa, two Scandinavian-style wicker chairs, a marble-top coffee table, a log feature wall, a 42-inch Smart TV, and a bay window with seating. The spacious master bedroom, also on the first floor, has a king-size bed, triple wardrobe, and stylish armchair, while a twin bedroom on the ground floor includes a truckle bed for a fifth guest. There is also a ground-floor shower room and a family shower room with a walk-in rainfall shower. Wi-fi is available. Outside, a private courtyard – accessed from the kitchen and up several steps – offers a wooden table with seating for up to six, a BBQ, and flowers and plants; often a suntrap. A covered porch at the front is useful for drying wetsuits and storing surfboards or bicycles. There is no private parking, but public parking is available in the harbour car park, with costs covered by the owner up to £5 per day by refund.
Perch on the harbour wall with a picnic, spend the day on the beach as the tide goes out, or watch the fishing boats bobbing on the horizon. Cafes, restaurants, pubs, and shops are dotted around the village, and the neighbouring village of Newlyn is a two-mile walk away, offering further places to eat and explore.
