Property code: OC-B611386

This two-bedroomed fisherman's cottage in Marazion offers couples and small families wide-reaching sea views across Mounts Bay, with St. Michael's Mount taking centre stage – a spot to watch the lights glowing at night along the coast. Marazion is an ancient market town home to a vast sandy beach where you can walk for miles, discovering rock formations with the gentle lapping tide that recedes towards the Mount. The island has a crescent harbour and an ancient castle nestled in wooded slopes.

Inside, the open-plan living and dining space on the ground floor features twin generous two-seater sofas, a Smart TV, an electric fire and sweeping sea views. A Scandi-style table and four chairs complete the dining area. The separate, well-equipped kitchen includes a filter coffee machine. A washing machine and freezer sit in an original outhouse next to the back door, and a restored outbuilding houses a hot beach shower. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king-size bed with views of St. Michael's Mount and the surrounding bay. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed, which can be made into a twin, with good views of the mount. A spacious bathroom with a freestanding bath sits adjacent on the first floor, alongside a contemporary shower room and a separate cloakroom. Outside, a decked patio up fairly steep steps from the kitchen catches the afternoon sun. There is no parking at the property, but free on-street parking is available nearby, with easy access for luggage drop-off at the front door.

Travelling to St. Michael's Mount is almost as much fun as exploring the island – walk the ancient stone causeway at low tide, or catch a National Trust boat when the tide is in. The South West Coast Path offers a flat, paved promenade from Marazion to Penzance – around 3 miles – with sculptures along the way. Penzance itself is home to the Art Deco Jubilee Pool and independent delis. A park and ride at nearby St. Erth connects to St. Ives via a scenic branch-line train, and the Coastal Hopper bus stops opposite the cottage for car-free exploring.

This house is in a fantastic location with a pleasant short walk down the road to the main area and different beaches. Great for spotting when the low and high tides are so you can walk across to St Michael's Mount! Dog friendly beaches all around. Can recommend the fish & chip shop (check when they are open), fudge and pasty shop! In the houRead morese the bedrooms have great sea views. Overall it had everything we needed including little touches like a cool bag, games and books to read. The door frames are low so you may need to duck your head but i would recommend this house for a lovely cosy week away. Hide
