This five-bedroom reverse-level retreat sits just 500 metres from the sand at Carbis Bay, making it a well-positioned base for families wanting to make the most of Cornwall's quieter, sheltered coastline. With sea views from the open-plan living space and room to sleep up to ten, there is no shortage of space.
Upstairs, the vaulted ceiling living area features a large corner sofa and armchairs with sea views, while the dining table seats twelve beside floor-to-ceiling glass doors overlooking the garden. The fully equipped kitchen includes a wine cooler and a Nespresso coffee machine, with bi-fold doors opening onto a balcony. A ground-floor snug with a 65-inch Smart TV provides a cosy spot for downtime, and there is a ping pong table in the garage for rainy days. Five bedrooms are spread across the ground floor and mezzanine – the master with a super-king-size bed, en-suite freestanding bath and walk-in shower, three further super-king-size zip-and-link rooms that convert to twins, and a king-size mezzanine bedroom accessed via spiral staircase. Please note that the mezzanine is not suitable for children. Underfloor heating runs throughout. Outside, steps lead down from the kitchen balcony to a large private lawned garden with outdoor dining for ten, sun loungers and a BBQ. Private parking for up to three cars is available, with an EV charger included in the rental.
St Ives is a five-minute train journey away – or a half-hour stroll along the coast path – where you'll find art galleries, independent shops and eateries. Carbis Bay Beach is perfect for swimming thanks to its sheltered aspect and largely flat sea conditions. Hawkes Point is half a mile away, Porthminster Beach 1.5 miles, Porthkidney Beach 1.5 miles, and Porthmeor Beach 2 miles. A ten-minute drive takes you to Hayle with its yawning estuary and wildlife.
